Shadetree Nursery

Shadetree Partnership Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) volunteer-based organization that promotes more livable communities through the planting and stewardship of shade trees and other nursery stock. Shadetree operates a 5 ½ acre nursery located on the campus of the University of California,

 

Irvine where over 4,000 trees and shrubs/ground covers are currently growing. It is at that location that enthusiastic volunteers grow, care for, and nurture trees, shrubs and ground covers for planting on public lands, including schools, parks, churches, and cities. Since its formation in 1990, Shadetree has planted more than 26,500 trees and ground covers at various sites within the community.

 

Many Orange County schools, colleges, community groups, non-profits and businesses have participated in Shadetree planting events.

Projects at Shadetree Nursery events include upgrading trees into larger containers, weeding, staking, raking, and other miscellaneous tasks. No experience is necessary as Shadetree will have staff available to train all volunteers in these projects.

The Adopt-a-Row program enables individuals, groups, or organizations to adopt a row of trees to care for at the Shadetree Partnership Nursery in Irvine.

Our student volunteers assist in weeding and maintaining IKPA’s Adopt-A-Row. Students can sign up every week and information regarding participation is emailed to IKPAVC members.

세이드트리는 비영리 단체로 UCI 캠퍼스 내에 위치한 5.2 에이커에 이르는 묘목장에서 4,000 그루 이상의 나무를 키우고 돌보고 있으며, 묘목 관리는 봉사자들의 자발적인 봉사로 이루어집니다.

​

세이드트리에서 키워진 묘목들은 학교, 공원, 교회 및 시내 곳곳에 심어집니다. 1990년에 시작된 세이드트리는 26,500 이상의 나무와 작은 꽃나무 등을 커뮤니티 내에 공급해 오고 있습니다. 오렌지 카운티 내의 많은 학교와 대학, 커뮤니티 그룹, 비영리 단체 등이 봉사에 참여하고 있습니다.

봉사 활동은 대부분 잡초 제거, 분갈이, 가지 치기 등이며 봉사를 하는데 특별한 경험이 요구되지는 않습니다.

세이드트리에서 운영하는 Adopt-A-Row 프로그램은 지역 사회의 참여를 독려하는 프로그램으로 개인, 그룹, 혹은 단체가 세이드트리가 관리하는 묘목 중 일정 부분을 책임지고 관리하는 것입니다.

IKPAVC 봉사자들의 주요 활동은 IKPA의 Adopt-A-Row 묘목들을 가꾸고 관리하는 것입니다. 매주 토요일에 봉사활동을 하며 한 달에 한 번씩 스페셜 이벤트가 열립니다.
