Presidential Volunteer Service Award

Award Eligibility

Hours are measured over a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Award*). The awards are designated based on cumulative hours. 

 

They are offered on multiple levels and are designed to recognize each milestone of your service achievement.  Levels include Bronze, Silver, Gold, and, the highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award. 

 

Along with the ultimate honor of the presidential recognition, recipients will receive: a personalized certificate; an official pin, medallion or coin; and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.

  ※ IKPAVC Presidential Volunteer Service Award Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e. a green card holder).

  • Must attend at least 3 out of the 6 IKPAVC regular meetings.

  • IKPAVC Volunteer Hours and Certificate Hours received through events related to IKPA are recognized.

  • You can only apply if you have participated in volunteer activities guided by IKPAVC for at least 50 hours AND 50% of the total volunteer hours must be from IKPAVC. (recognized when both conditions are satisfied)

  • Outside service organizations must be based in the United States.

  • Outside Service Organizations must be legally registered non-profit foundations or identifiable organizations (hospitals, nursing homes, city-sponsored outreach, etc.).

  • Outside volunteer organizations "must" submit a Volunteer Hour Certificate, which includes the name of the volunteer organization, the information of the volunteer organization, the name of the IKPAVC volunteer, the contents of the service, the volunteer period, and the name/signature of the head of the organization.

  • Outside service organizations are limited to 2 or fewer.

  • Outside service organizations do not include school-based clubs, tutor clubs, religious/missionary organizations, political organizations, or corporations.

  • Outside service content such as practicing and fundraising is not recognized as volunteer hours.

  • Any service that gives school credits, benefits, money (or you pay a fee), special membership access, etc. is not recognized.

  • Volunteers are responsible for any issues regarding the external service organization along with explaining any description about the outside service organization. If problems were to arise due to the external service organization, it is within the volunteer to take responsibility. 

  • It is difficult to apply if the agency certification and service certification of the external service organization are not clear. For members who plan to attach external volunteer hours, be sure to check the applicable rules in advance and contact IKPAVC(ikpavc@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

  ※ Objections at the time of application for the Presidential Service Award will NOT be accepted without prior inquiry.

 

 

※ IKPAVC 대통령 봉사상 신청 규정

  • 영주권자/시민권자에 한해 대통령 봉사상을 신청하실 수 있습니다.

  • 연간 6회 있는 IKPAVC 정규 미팅에 3회 이상 반드시 참석해야 합니다.

  • IKPAVC 봉사 시간 및 IKPA와 관련된 행사를 통해 받은 Certificate Hours는 인정됩니다.

  • 총 봉사 시간의 50시간 이상 AND 50% 이상을 IKPAVC에서 안내한 봉사활동에 참여한 경우에만 신청하실 수 있습니다. (2가지 조건이 모두 충족시 인정)

  • 외부 봉사 기관은 미국에 기반을 둔 단체이어야 합니다.

  • 외부 봉사 기관은 합법적으로 등록된 비영리 재단 또는 확인 가능한 기관(병원, 요양원, 시 주관 봉사활동 등)만 인정합니다.

  • 외부 봉사 기관은 "반드시" 봉사 기관의 명칭, 봉사 기관의 정보,  IKPAVC의 봉사자 이름, 봉사 내용, 봉사 기간, 단체장 이름/서명이 포함된 Volunteer Hour Certificate을 제출하여야 합니다.

  • 외부 봉사 기관은 2개 이내로 제한됩니다.

  • 외부 봉사 기관은 학교에 기반을 둔 클럽, 과외 클럽, 종교/선교 단체, 정치 단체, 기업은 포함하지 않습니다.

  • 외부 봉사 내용 중 연습/대기 등 실제 봉사하지 않은 시간과 펀드 모집 등의 봉사는 봉사 시간으로 인정하지 않습니다.

  • 외부 봉사 내용 중 크레딧, 학점, 급여 등등 댓가가 있는 모든 봉사는 봉사 시간으로 인정되지 않습니다.

  • 외부 봉사 기관 및 봉사내용 증명 등의 소명의 의무 및 문제 발생시 문제에 대한 책임은 신청하는 회원에게 있습니다.

  • 외부 봉사 기관의 기관 인증과 봉사 증명이 명확치 않은 경우 접수가 어렵습니다. 외부 봉사 시간을 첨부하실 계획인 회원의 경우, 사전에 반드시 신청 규정을 확인하시고 질문이 있으신 경우, IKPAVC(ikpavc@gmail.com)로 문의 바랍니다.

※ 사전 문의 없이 대통령 봉사상 신청 시점에서의 이의제기는 접수되지 않습니다.
